My name is Frank Hawkes, and woodworking has been a lifelong passion and blessing. After retiring from the business world, I felt called to dedicate my time and talents fully to custom woodworking, transforming simple pieces of raw wood into meaningful works of art.
Today, I am especially blessed to create handmade wooden crosses—each one crafted with patience, skill, prayer, and reverence. For me, these crosses are more than pieces of wood; they are symbols of faith, hope, love, and God’s grace.
I consider this work part of my ministry. Through each cross I create, my hope is to inspire faith, encourage hearts, and remind people of the greater purpose and love found in Christ. Every piece is carefully made with a commitment to excellence, knowing that God can use even the work of our hands to touch lives and bring people closer to Him.

My custom woodworking process is rooted in traditional craftsmanship. I personally hand-cut, shape, and finish each piece to bring out the natural beauty and character of the wood. I do not rely on high-tech machinery such as laser cutters or CNC machines. Instead, I believe in the value of hands-on craftsmanship and the personal touch that goes into creating something truly unique.

Through Hawkes Woodworking, I use the gift God has given me for woodworking to create handcrafted pieces—especially crosses—that are more than beautiful works of wood. They are expressions of faith, devotion, and love for Christ.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted by me, with the hope that it will become a meaningful part of someone’s home, church, family, or personal faith journey.
